• Launched

  • Atelier Jolie, Angelina Jolie launches a sustainable fashion company. The first capsule collection will be with Chloe/Gabriela Hearst.

  • Parent company Williams- Sonoma launches a new brand, GreenRow.

  • Beyoncé is launching hair products.

  • Intimate apparel brand Parade launches an activewear line.

  • I guess it was only a matter of time, Victoria's Secret launches on Amazon.

  • Hottest newest collab - Laura Vassar, cofounder of Brock Collection, designed a capsule collab with Reformation.

  • Simon Miller x Mango super popular, citrus inspired, collection.

  • Rumor is that Clare Waight Keller is partnering with Uniqlo.

• Departures and Hired

  • Edward Enninful announces he is leaving British Vogue as the Editor in Chief. He will stay on as a Vogue advisor and will take on other creative projects. Another article from WWD on Enninful's departure.

  • Designer Gabriela Hearst is leaving Chloé.

  • Stitch Fix announces Macy's exec Matt Baer as the new CEO.

Everything I Loved ❤️️ 

• Washington Post journalist Rachel Tashjian wrote about the sale of the century - shopping Chloe Sevigny's closet.

• If you appreciate the quote "Well, I lost half a day of skiing" then you might be into the trial merch described in the NYTimes article.

• Chanel vs Hermés - let's talk pricing. A Chanel classic is now more expensive than the Hermés Birkin for the first time. 

• If you are looking for some Luxury data you will likely find it in the Vox article.

• And from WWD, what Fashion CEOs are thinking about in regards to the American Consumer.

• Fashion detective/sourcer Gab Waller has a new monthly column with Vogue on the hottest items.

• I loved listening to this How I Built This episode where Guy Raz interviews Tory Burch on founding her namesake brand.

• Here Leandra Medine Cohen shows how to style the mesh shoes I recently wrote about as a summer trend. I also like how Leandra broke down the 3 ingredients for a successful trend take off.

• The Alaîa Heart Bag

• Tween Fashion from a teen magazine.

• From WSJ, hot athleisure brand Alo Yoga vs competitors Nike and Lululemon etc.

• Found this TikTok CBS interview with Jane Birkin on the history of how the Hermés Birkin bag came to be from my friend Megan of Lola Saratoga. 

• WSJ breaks down Nike on leaving retail/wholesale and now the return a couple of years later.

• I am absolutely loving Lauren Sherman's newsletter for Puck, the Line Sheet.

What's Next?

The lines outside stores in Paris and the crowds at Selfridges, Galleries Lafayette and Bon Marché tell me that consumers are ready to spend. We also love looking at beautiful merchandise. The atmosphere was playful and an experience - my favorite is retail as theater. Enjoy your summer and I'll be back with any news that makes a splash.
